# Sharpy > Sharpy is an AI to-do list and day planner for Mac. It turns your Slack messages, emails, calls and the text on your screen into one list of what you have to do, each task linked to the message it came from. A task crosses itself off when you send the reply or the pull request merges, a stale one offers to move or drop, and each morning Sharpy proposes the order of your day. Double-tap Option to talk to it from any window. Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and ChatGPT read and update the list through MCP. Sharpy is free in early access, on Macs with Apple silicon. It turns Slack messages, emails, calls and the text on screen into tasks. - Platform: macOS 14 or later, Macs with Apple silicon. Windows and Linux are on the waitlist. - Price: free in early access. - Status: early access. Download for Mac at getsharpy.com/download; Windows and Linux have a waitlist. - Reads: the text of apps on screen through macOS Accessibility; connected tools such as Gmail, Slack, Linear, GitHub, Jira, Asana, Todoist and Google Calendar; call transcripts. - Closes tasks by itself: a sent reply, a merged pull request, a closed issue. When it is not sure, it asks. - Never saves: passwords, banking, logins, private windows. Masks card numbers, keys, phone numbers and codes before storing. - Storage: history is stored on the Mac. Relevant text is sent to cloud AI models to build the list and drafts; providers may keep it up to 30 days for abuse monitoring. - Acts only on a yes: before Sharpy sends a message, files an issue or moves a calendar event, it shows the exact change and waits for the person to approve it. - For AI agents: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and ChatGPT read and update the list through MCP; scripts through the sharpy command line. - Todoist and Linear: their tasks come into the same list, and a task finished in either place is done in both. - Contact: hello@getsharpy.com. ## About Sharpy - [Sharpy: AI to-do list and day planner for Mac](https://getsharpy.com/index.md): What Sharpy is, how a Slack message becomes a task, what it reads, your data, your agents, questions, and the waitlist. - [How Sharpy works: an AI that reads your screen for tasks](https://getsharpy.com/how-it-works.md): How Sharpy reads your Mac, writes one list, closes what you finish, proposes the order of your day, drafts replies and learns from your marks. - [Sharpy privacy: what it reads and what it sends](https://getsharpy.com/privacy.md): What Sharpy reads, what it never saves, what it sends to cloud AI models and to whom, and the full privacy policy. - [Join the Sharpy waitlist: AI to-do list for Mac](https://getsharpy.com/waitlist.md): Join the Sharpy waitlist: one email field; access by email in waves, or at once when three friends join with your link. ## Features - [Turn Slack messages and emails into tasks · Sharpy](https://getsharpy.com/features/follow-ups.md): Sharpy turns what you promised and what you were asked in Slack, email and calls into tasks, and closes each one when you deliver. ## Use cases - [An AI chief of staff for your to-do list · Sharpy](https://getsharpy.com/use-cases/founders.md): Sharpy for founders: every promise from every channel on one list, a plan each morning, and a warning before each call. - [A to-do list Claude Code and Cursor can update · Sharpy](https://getsharpy.com/use-cases/engineers.md): Sharpy for engineers: a list from Slack, Linear and GitHub that closes when the pull request merges, readable by coding agents through MCP. - [Sharpy MCP server: a to-do list your agents can update](https://getsharpy.com/mcp.md): Sharpy’s MCP server: setup for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and ChatGPT, and the tools an agent can call (list_work, add_work_item, update_work_item and more). ## Comparisons - [Town AI alternative for Mac: Sharpy vs Town (2026)](https://getsharpy.com/vs/town.md): Sharpy compared with Town (town.com): where each runs, what each reads, lists, calendars, acting for you, teams and price. - [AI to-do list and planner apps for Mac, compared (2026)](https://getsharpy.com/alternatives.md): One table comparing Sharpy with Todoist, Motion, Sunsama, Reclaim, Akiflow and Town, with links to each comparison. - [Motion app alternative for Mac (2026): Sharpy vs Motion](https://getsharpy.com/alternatives/motion.md): Sharpy as a Motion alternative: what Motion does better, what Sharpy does differently, prices on 21 October 2026. - [Sunsama alternative for Mac (2026): Sharpy vs Sunsama](https://getsharpy.com/alternatives/sunsama.md): Sharpy as a Sunsama alternative: a plan proposed each morning instead of a planning ritual; prices on 21 October 2026. - [Todoist alternative that writes the list for you · Sharpy](https://getsharpy.com/alternatives/todoist.md): Sharpy as a Todoist alternative or companion: Sharpy writes the list, Todoist tasks come in, done syncs both ways. - [Reclaim AI alternative for Mac: Sharpy vs Reclaim (2026)](https://getsharpy.com/alternatives/reclaim.md): Sharpy as a Reclaim alternative: tasks found for you, a day planned around your calls, your calendar changed only when you approve. - [Akiflow alternative for Mac (2026): Sharpy vs Akiflow](https://getsharpy.com/alternatives/akiflow.md): Sharpy as an Akiflow alternative: no inbox to process, tasks found and ordered for you; prices on 21 October 2026. ## Blog - [Sharpy blog: notes on Claude Code, Mac apps and AI](https://getsharpy.com/blog.md): The Sharpy blog: Claude Code, Mac how-tos and comparisons, one question per post. - [Claude Code worktrees: run three sessions, keep the thread](https://getsharpy.com/blog/claude-code-worktrees-parallel-sessions.md): How --worktree gives each Claude Code session its own checkout, what to copy into it, how cleanup works, and how to know which of three sessions needs you. - [How to find clipboard history on Mac (macOS 26 and before)](https://getsharpy.com/blog/clipboard-history-mac.md): macOS 26 has clipboard history in Spotlight once you turn it on (⌘Space, then ⌘4).
