# Your context. Your call.

What Sharpy reads, what it never saves, and what goes to the cloud. Plain words first, the full policy after.

## In plain words

### What does Sharpy read?

The text of the apps on your screen, through macOS Accessibility, and the tools and calendars you connect. It takes no screenshots or video for your list.

### What does it never save?

Passwords, banking, logins and private windows. Card numbers, keys, phone numbers and codes are masked before anything is stored. Private-window detection works on a best-effort basis, and Sharpy says so in the app.

### Where is my history?

On your Mac. You can export it, erase any part of it, or erase all of it.

### Does Sharpy send my emails to the cloud?

It sends the relevant text, not your whole inbox. To build your list and drafts, Sharpy sends that text through its gateway to AI model providers. The gateway does not store it. Providers may keep prompts and responses for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring.

### Which providers?

Today: Google (Gemini), OpenAI (through Azure), Anthropic (Claude, through Amazon Bedrock) and TypeSafe (Jev). Call transcripts and search over your history use OpenAI models.

### Does Sharpy send anything for me?

Only when you say yes. Sharpy shows the exact message or change first, and nothing reaches the other app until you press the button.

### How do I stop it reading something?

Exclude an app, a site or a window title in Settings, pause it, or erase everything.

### How do I delete my account?

In the app: Settings, Account, Delete account. Your history on the Mac is separate, and you can erase it there.

## The full privacy policy

What this website collects, and how the current Sharpy app handles your work. Last updated 26 October 2026.

### 01 The waitlist

We save your email address, whether you joined from a Mac or another computer (read from your browser, so we know which invite to send) and the time you join. If you arrive through a campaign or referral link, we also save its source tags. We use this information to manage early access and contact you about your invite.

When you join, you get a personal invite link. If someone joins the waitlist through it, we record that they came through your link, so we can count it toward your access; we tell you how many people joined, never who. If you joined through a friend’s link, we record whose link it was. The link carries a short code, not your email address.

When you create a Sharpy account, from the app or on the web, your address is added to the waitlist as well, so the number on this site counts everyone who has signed up. You get no waitlist email for it.

### 02 Signing in on the web

The sign-in page on this site signs you in with Google at auth.getsharpy.com. That site keeps the address you signed in as in a cookie in your browser for 30 days, so Sharpy on your Mac can sign in without asking again; it keeps nothing else.

If you sign in from a computer Sharpy does not run on yet, such as a Windows PC, we add that address to the waitlist as a Windows signup, with the same details as above, and email you when Sharpy is ready for it.

### 03 On this website

Joining the waitlist does not give Sharpy access to your screen or files. It does not collect your work history.

We use PostHog to understand how the site is used: which pages are opened, what is clicked, how far people scroll, whether the form works, what text is copied, errors in the page, and recordings of how a page is used, including its animations. Recordings mask what you type. Two short optional questions may appear: one after you join, and one if you leave the form without joining. When you join the waitlist, the email you gave is linked to your visit so we can see how people find Sharpy. This data is kept by PostHog on our behalf and is not sold. We also load Google Analytics, which counts visits and where they come from so we can read the site’s search traffic; it sets its own cookies and Google keeps that data under its terms.

### 04 Inside the current app

Captured work history is stored locally on your computer. Capture reads accessible text from supported apps. You can inspect and delete your history, exclude apps and pause capture. Privacy filters run before text is stored; detection, including private-window detection, has limitations.

### 05 Cloud processing

AI features send relevant context through Sharpy’s gateway to model providers. This includes questions, writing, tasks and background memory summaries. The gateway does not store this content. Model providers may retain prompts and responses for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring.

### 06 Computer tasks

A task may capture individual window screenshots when needed. Task images are stored locally alongside memory. A task may also send data to a connected service to carry out your request.

### 07 Access by platform

Mac and Windows users can join the waitlist. Access opens by platform, and your invite will describe the requirements and the data handling for the build you receive.

### 08 Your choice

To ask about your data or request removal from the waitlist, write to [hello@getsharpy.com](mailto:hello@getsharpy.com).
