Sharpy’s MCP server: your to-do list for coding agents

Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and ChatGPT read your list, add tasks and mark them done through Sharpy’s local MCP server. It runs on your Mac, inside the Sharpy app.

Free in early access. macOS 14 or later, Apple silicon.

Set it up

One click, from Sharpy

In Sharpy, open Integrations and add the client. Sharpy writes the entry into that client’s own config file, so there is nothing to paste.

By hand, in Claude Code

$ claude mcp add sharpy -- /Applications/Sharpy.app/Contents/Helpers/sharpy-mcp

Any client that speaks MCP over stdio takes the same helper: /Applications/Sharpy.app/Contents/Helpers/sharpy-mcp, with no arguments. Sharpy has to be running.

The first time a client connects, Sharpy asks on the island whether it may. The answer is kept per program, and you can revoke it in Integrations.

Questions

Can Claude Code read my to-do list?

Yes. With Sharpy’s MCP server added, Claude Code can list your tasks, see what is next, add a task and mark one done when the work lands.

Does my history leave the Mac when an agent reads it?

The server runs on your Mac and answers from the local file. What the agent pulls into its context goes wherever that agent sends its context; for Claude Code that is Anthropic’s API.

Does it work with Cursor and ChatGPT?

Yes. Cursor reads the same helper from its MCP settings, and the ChatGPT desktop app uses Codex’s config, so “ChatGPT & Codex” in Sharpy sets up both.

What about Todoist or Linear MCP?

Sharpy brings Todoist and Linear tasks into the same list, and done syncs both ways, so one MCP server covers all three.
